I've been using this site for a few months now and theres no catch. You just earn credits by completeing tasks, filing out surveys, entering contests and playing games. You can earn anything from 20 metapoint upwards from just one task or survey, and theres plenty available so it quickly adds up :)
When you have at least 200 metapoints you can transfer them to your imvu account. These are real credits which means you can use them to buy gifts for your buddies or use them to submit products to the catologe if you are a developer.
